Why A Sun Hoodie?
Sunlight is essential for vitamin D production. It can also improve mood and can be beneficial for specific skin conditions. Our skin is built to protect against UV rays, primarily through the pigment melanin. However, too much sunlight and UV exposure can be detrimental, leading to sunburn, premature aging, and increased risk of skin cancer. To combat this, we instinctively reach for sunscreen that has been heavily marketed to us for decades.

I was skeptical until I tried it myself. I received the Lena Full Sun Hoodie in the Auburncolor. Vertx hit the mark with their design to create a flattering fit for women with a classic A-line cut. The relaxed fit, underarm gussets, raglan sleeves, and curved hem with side slits offer room to move without being cumbersome. A perfect blend of spandex and polyester provides a silky-smooth feel against your skin.
Fit & Feel
Good fit and feel are only part of the equation. I was hopeful it would live up to the company’s claims with UV protection and breathability. Living in the south with high heat and humidity, I was eager to try it out. I have utilized this sun hoodie outdoors in full sun, in shade with heat and humidity, and wet, rainy conditions. I can honestly say it delivers on every claim. This sun hoodie is comfortable, breathable, and quick drying. One of my favorite features is the fitted hood. It stays in place and can be used with or without a hat and provides excellent protection for the back of the neck.
