Weatherby’s 80th Anniversary Mark V Commemorative takes the company’s flagship action and dresses it with classic wood and beautiful metalwork, then adds modern touches. It is chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum, a round known for its speed, flat trajectory, and hard-hitting performance. It remains one of the most iconic hunting rounds ever developed.
At the heart is a titanium Mark V action. That choice keeps weight down and corrosion at bay, and it gives the rifle a distinctive satin look. Weatherby didn’t leave it plain. Engraved Barrel
Barrel choice for this rifle is a change from the standard. Instead of blued steel, Weatherby has used an engraved carbon-wrapped tube from BSF. The muzzle wears an engraved Accubrake DST to calm the .300’s push.
The stock is an exhibition-grade walnut Monte Carlo with a hand-rubbed oil finish. Rosewood caps and maple spacers frame the grip and forend, and Weatherby’s little maple diamond in the grip cap is back. Checkering is sharp and practical, not showy. The bottom metal and floorplate carry commemorative engravings and the 80th logo, so the rifle classically tells its own story.

DLC Finish
Weatherby spent a great deal of time on the details of this rifle. The bolt features a DLC finish for enhanced durability and smoother cycling, along with engraving that references the company motto, “Tomorrow’s Rifles Today.” The bolt sleeve and knob are also engraved. Each rifle wears a unique anniversary serial number. It ships in a fitted hard case that feels appropriate to the occasion. Weatherby also includes a retro-style ammo box as a nod to mid-century packaging.

The price will raise eyebrows, and that is fair. At over twelve grand, this is not the rifle you buy to drag through an alder thicket on a wet November day. It is a statement piece that can absolutely hunt, and some owners will do just that.
